Course structure

Our 4-day songwriting course will take you through each step of writing a song from lyrics to melody and harmony and even creating an arrangement.

The course is structured over 4 days filled with sessions and workshops (11th-14th August, Monday – Thursday) with a showcase at the end of the last day (Thursday). You will be given a detailed schedule of the course on the first day, as well as a tour of the facilities. Throughout the course, you will be constantly receiving feedback from our experienced teachers. The final showcase will be open to the public, and students are encouraged to bring their family and friends in to watch.

Morning sessions:

Morning sessions will be taught in a classroom-like environment. Each session will focus on a different aspect of songwriting, walking you through the theory of different techniques and providing real-life examples. While the morning sessions will start with lyric writing and gradually make their way through melody, harmony and arranging, you can write the elements of your song in any order you prefer.

Afternoon workshops:

Afternoon workshops will provide you the opportunity to implement the skills you learned during the morning session. You will have the opportunity to write on your own or with other students on the course in practice rooms and rehearsal spaces. During this time, our teachers will be walking around and providing further guidance and feedback.
